As I write this I am watching the twitch stream of Luke VonKarma, a yugioh streamer, and contemplating the idea of live streaming. As a profession, it requires something of a lower barrier to entry than youtube (since it's generally youtube videos with more of a budget to them that break through the barrier nowadays), but I can't imagine it's any easier a profession, especially if you want to be successful. Not needing to edit, but needing to spend more time selling the persona. It's very strange.
I've been watching more streaming lately, in part because it's perfect "vibing while high" media, and it's interesting how many different kinds of streams there really are. The standard gamer in a corner set up is expected, and hornybait streamers likewise with the room with the angel lights set up. It turns out, however, that within the VRChat category is a whoole different brand of hornybait streamers, including hypnosis apparently? Which leads me to VTubers, which run the full roulette of being a space for communist tgirls having an avatar to express their true self (with huge boobs) and women who spend their stream continuing the harassment of Imane Khalif.
